if you're into horror, there is a very long tradition of great horror in shoujo and josei magazines. one magazine i'm especially fond of is horror m (short for simply horror-mystery), which is at least on this site considered a josei magazine. other places, like the japanese wikipedia page, don't list it as josei, but the art styles were usually recognizably shoujo/josei-esque.
