when I played World of Warcraft in 2004 I was playing a zombie chick and trying to find a name for someone 'out for revenge' on the living had me pick a famous indigenous figure who was massacre'd by settlers.I had the name for a month before it ran afoul of the 'no-real person names' rule(since removed) and a game referee made me change it and gave me 30 whole seconds to come up with a new one.I had a hard time thinking of something vengeful; I eventually settled on a naming strategy that was a portmanteau of 'name+injury'.and to this day, I have never met a person named Tabitha that didn't have a sour disposition. y35v

My real name (ofc only in singleplayer games) if I am gonna immerse myself, if not some dumbstuff or FeaRimbor. For online games I just use FeaRimbor.

I use my real name if it's off-line .
If it's online I just smash the keyboard for a random name on my first character and if I like it, I use whatever nick I've been using recently + a ramdom word / number (if I feel the game is safe) .Lastly if the game has just started / I don't feel its safe, but I like it anyway I use a palindromic name/symbols.

In online games, always "Lpoool"
But in offline games, the mc the most of the times are pretty dumb stuff, like b, AAAAA4, sex2. And if it has companions or something similar like pokemons or rpg party , usually I use my friend's nicknames because it's pretty funny when something happens and its like "Oh no, Friend1 killed Friend2" or like "Friend3 is carrying my entire run".
