Is no ending better than a bad ending?

As already pointed out, the novel is better. If you're interested in this story, just go read that.

Comparing this to "Is This Hero For Real?", which has a very rushed ending, I think I like this non-ending slightly more. If they ever un-axe it, they could continue the story. Whereas, a rushed ending is permanent.

So, very slightly better. But still, just read the novel instead.

The MC is so edgy to the point of ridiculousness that it almost makes the MC seem kinda stupid. Like the MC would come up with an elaborate plan to nuke a town full of innocent people to kill 1 evil guy and act genuinely suprised that that was not the right thing to do when basic common sense would dictate thats not the right thing to do. The character feels evil for the sake of edgyness not because of wanting to tell something interesting or compelling. Compare characters like Light Yagami, who is evil but there's logic to his evilness because he is killing some genuinely evil people. Ainz from Overlord is also an arguably evil if not morally gray person but its somewhat understandable since hes not human anymore and lacks emotions. The MC in this is from the modern 21st century and genuinely can't understand why genocide, slavery is wrong. Theres also not really a story. Its pretty much the same thing over and over again with almost zero changes, the MC doesn't change, new interesting characters aren't introduced. There's not even really any notable characters that aren't just punching bags for the MC to lash out at. The MC just feels like an edgy self insert that is meant to be different. If you want a time loop/reset story theres plenty better like Suicide Hunter or Skeleton Soldier. If you want something with evil protagonist theres the two series I already mentioned. Its really only carried by the art and action but really nothing else.

Novel is better

Read the novel quite a while ago, now read the comic version just for fun.

I prefer the novel to the manga (his inner musings are the best part and the manga cuts out almost all of it, so many important and hilarious or interesting details are missed, so much dark comedy is lost and the manga is also quite toned down, especially regarding sex and erotic stuff but also violence and the craziness), but I do realize that this story is far from for everyone. You need to ENJOY brutality, insanity and a completely unshackled protagonist. This is pretty much the opposite of shounen, something like a parody of the isekai genre.

He's crazy, positively insane and he'll act in a self-delusional manner while not caring about anyone. But he's also ridiculously overpowered and just gets more OP as the story goes along.

By mangaupdates score standards, this is a 8/10 for me. If the scores weren't so skewed, I'd say 6 or 7 out of 10. The novel is instead a true 9/10 but adjusted to 10/10 for skewed scores.

This story is perfect if you're tired of insufferable japanese shounen-type protagonists and their self-righteous love and friendship bullsh*t. He's insane but his mindset of actively loathing everything typical shounen and their annoying protagonists is great.

I do agree with some other reviewers that the story isn't that interesting, the protagonist carries all of it and elevates it to a very fun read even if the world building is simple. In many ways, the simple, cliché world building is by design, as if to taunt and break it. He knows the story and his situation is shit and stupid and he's very much unhappy about it to say the least.

This is going to be a hit or miss with people, like works such as "redo of healer". It's for people who are tired of self-righteous boring protagonists and can enjoy darker, more scheming or merely brutal protagonists and preferably even self-insert and enjoy the carnage. But it's going to trigger people who love the friendship and love trope. The novel is even more extreme though and really pulls no punches.

I'll just include some comparisons too between the manga and novel

In the manga, he finds an orc who has an elf tied up, but in the novel, the orc is in the process of raping that elf and she's quite broken and is used as a shield by the orc while in the manga he just kills her. In the novel, he has sex with the elf prince's knight underling but she's not really mentioned much in the manga. In the novel, he tames the saintess in the hero festival by making his underlings push her towards him, then he tames her spiritually and sexually, while in the manga he just sucks on her cheeks for some divinity. The tamer angel of noebius the oblivion dragon in the manga gets a more dominant role with little erotic parts while she's treated like a small fry in the novel, he punches her stomach then proceeds to suck her dry with his mouth until she couldn't move anymore and then he snaps her neck, they lose control of the dragon because they try to save her and there were multiple angels controlling him/holding his leash there.

I mentioned mostly erotic stuff but quite a lot of battles are changed too (like when he meets the prince in the training room, in the manga he just beats him up and the prince escapes, but in the novel, he beats him up, breaks his bones, breaks his neck and holds his neck with his spine broken so he can't regenerate and then goes around smashing him like a human weapon until his head separates from his body in a gory mess before coming back to life after a while due to the nature of that place, way gorier and funnier), along with characters, sometimes completely making up new characters are worse compared to the original and sometimes doing things like switching genders. Even when events are the same, the feeling is very different due to the lack of details which reduces brutality, craziness and humor. Towards the end of "season 4" of the manga which ends at chapter 172 (around chapter 115-145 or something of the novel), the events are wildly different, a lot of important events are ignored or changed completely to rush the story for some reason, making for a hollow shell of a story and a more stupid, rushed mc. He comes across as more clever and more in control compared to the manga, especially towards the end of previously mentioned season 4. He's more unhinged yet at the same time also more rational and logical.

Really, go for the novel instead, or read both.

Ok so, let’s talk about it.

Art?
Amazing
Characters?
It’s interesting, because while everyone in fantasia is basically an NPC, people from earth should’ve more depth to them you know? I know they’re kids, but they’re being forced to save the world, only the protagonist can boast the incredible title of not being a total moron.
Story?
I love unpredictability! This story is amazing in that regard, as even if you think you know where the story is going. You’re wrong, sorry, incredible!
Mc?
The mc is a riot, a complete menace to society and everyone on general, and not in the way of, “good mc is misunderstood/betrayed and everyone thinks they’re bad” or “mc has a really high white horse, so everything he does is evil in his eyes”, don’t get me wrong, those archetypes can work (aka the lout from the count family or shield hero), but this is different! A truly despicable kid in the worst way a kid could be, it’s great! Absolutely had me rolling all the time, the antithesis of a self insert.
World building?
How to explain the isekai fenomena in today’s setting ,how it works, why it’s implemented, and why it can fail. Great stuff.

And to everyone complaining about repetitiveness, sure, you’re right, in the same way someone says re zero feels repetitive. It’s not an error you feel that way, the mc feels it too, and it’s pissed beyond belief about it.

I agree 100/10. Read it.

tbh, the art, the character, the power system, even the world building is really cool, the pace is nice as well, its just the plot is all over the place, its a mess with no clear end which makes it really hard to read, and it gets repetitive

It ends up being too repetitive, though less than the novel.

Extremely simple and easy to read fantasy about a guy that has gone crazy and is constantly returned to similar settings in the same fantasy world. The main mistakes of the series is how he does unnecessary stuff as an excuse for the author to explore the fantasy world and gain reputation when he supposedly just wants the get strong and graduate fast. (this mistake gets larger when we see how the other heroes/graduates made a sort of guide at that point his supposed uniqueness has 0 sense)

It's boring to read everything in a go, but it's not that bad to catch up when waiting for other stuff.

He orchestrated stuffs like propaganda, scheming, intelligence gathering and brainwashing, but he just cant grasp how to maintain good public image. He dismissed Sieg's "doing kind things" as playing around with realising its importance to good public image. Policians do "kind"stuffs like charity and visit orphanage for a reason.

It's the revenge story of a MC who became a psychopath, and that's okay, it's fun.

If you like the power of friendship and Hero who are constantly being walked on by their comrades because they're nice guys, I don't recommend it to you.

The MC starts out already "broken" from 10 years of off-screen adventures and the very reason he got broken by that is because he had an unconventional mindset from the very beginning, so it might be hard for a normal reader to empathize with him.
You're not supposed to think "what would I do in his place", rather "what would he do". Unlike a normal isekai, this isn't meant to indulge the reader's escapism, if that's what you want there's a variety of harem/mary sue or even otome isekai for you out there. This isn't it.
My bad explanation attempts aside, it's a great story.
10/10, read multiple times and about to read again. Can't wait for the next season.
